| Review: I saw the movie FrightFest in London for a couple of days ago, and I was pretty well convinced Id have to see something special - but I ended up seeing a movie that is very unusual. Brutal, but beautiful, but the magic of the earth, is a remarkable cast, with standout performances all special mention goes round.A Sergi Lopez, whose Captain Vidal is really one of the most sadistic movie creations seen. However, he manages to make the audience understand why it is the way it is ... amazing performance. Maribel Verdus mistress quiet, but rebel is one of the strongest female roles I've seen for many years, and she supports a wealth of talent. Young Ivana Baquero is surprisingly self-confident as a 12-year-old Ofelia, and I particularly liked his approach almost Alice-like magical creatures he meets in the maze. The icing on this story is deformed Doug Jones, who gives a strong performance - and in this case, literally and figuratively - as the guardian of the labyrinth that is Faun, full of grace and charm, and the latent threat. Although dubbed his Spanish is perfect (Jones does not speak a word of the language), and his physical presence is incredibly powerful as his character teases, cajoles and Ophelia Harriot perform their duties.
