Now Ive seen all Coen films, and Id have to say this is one of the very best. Its about this guy, the old, perfectly played by Jeff Bridges, who gets an unexpected visit from two thugs who his carpet flooring. This event triggers a kidnapping drama filled with black humor and crazy characters. Id recommend this movie to anyone with an open mind and a wicked sense of humor. Maybe that's why I love it so much.

Jon Hamm gets to look cool, cold and stay cold. He is FBI other than we are accustomed. Slim, but with a nastier edge. And, for me, last but not least, Blake Lively. I hear she is a glamor girl on TV and red carpets, but here he is replacing broken, damaged and desperate, and a dollop of mascara on each eye. One review I read said shes not Amy Ryan (see: Gone Baby Gone). Maybe not, but that is pretty fair and he is well on the job here. Thus, action, combat heroes root for, and Fenway Park (diamonds out, pretty nasty down)! Whats not to like? But I've got one thing to nit-pick. Does everyone in the world and the third day beard? FBI unshaven guys in the office for the day? Ben even has some short-term variable he goes 2-1 with 3 day beards in the same Caper! Hey, what can you do, not a big long shot, but it was too much chaff!

Review: I was impressed by the movie and could not believe that this is Scott Walker's first film. It was very well done. During the movie, you can really tell the director / writing (both Scott) 's attempt to pursue perfection. The script was powerful, much research and studies behind it, I can only imagine. I especially loved the color of the whole movie, very dark and depressing, it made my heart heavy. Great quick opening caught my attention right away, and a very intense ending. Even if you know that the villain would be caught in the end, it's hard to breathe at the end. One of my favorite scenes was when Cindy saw an Alaska moose. Be aware of the moment. It was so beautiful and poetic. John Cusack's performance was outstanding! He convinced me that he really was so killer! Also, I have a new respect for Vanessa Hudgens. Did she got popular luck. But no, I really felt how much work she would do for a movie, and she puts her heart into it. Good to see Dean Norris too! He began acting career back to the 60th century, but only got very popular and well known of these years. (Breaking Bad) I can not imagine how much ups and downs during this trip. He's a fantastic actor. I'm happy for his success! All in all, I always feel that the story is the soul of a film, it is the most important factor. I loved the story of serial killer Robert Hansen! I'm so glad Scott wrote this movie and put it on the big screen!
