| Review: Ben Affleck saga chronicled included in this review. Pretty boy yearning to blockbuster star and paparazzi estimates, the Razzie nominations every year. Im not sure if they have the right Razzies making him doubt the film stronger as his star fell. Finally, he took some strong supporting cast to get back on track and now has grabbed the reins with both director resignation Town is placed in and on my beloved Boston. Ahh, ahh, Boston you're my home. By selecting Charlestown (now Chuck Ville yuppier) as a basis, North End for a car after the guts of the old (1912) Fenway for peak last job, he is at home in its surroundings. Anyone who walked, stopped to slice through the North End and checked out the streets knows that the last place you'd ever expect a high-speed chase. Ben camera and editing makes it exciting, crash-filled event. Pity poor stunt drivers to careen around the corner! Many reviews say the plot points. Im just going to write my opinions on entertainment value which is much higher. Although more than two hours, it never drags. Ben gives to each of his excellent cast very large area or two. Chris Cooper gets 5 minutes of screen time and is excellent. Rebecca Hall, the most average looking person you see is amazing. Jeremy Renner is calm and explosive at the same time. Jon Hamm gets to look cool, cold and stay cold. He is FBI other than we are accustomed. Slim, but with a nastier edge. And, for me, last but not least, Blake Lively. I hear she is a glamor girl on TV and red carpets, but here he is replacing broken, damaged and desperate, and a dollop of mascara on each eye. One review I read said shes not Amy Ryan (see: Gone Baby Gone). Maybe not, but that is pretty fair and he is well on the job here. Thus, action, combat heroes root for, and Fenway Park (diamonds out, pretty nasty down)! Whats not to like? But I've got one thing to nit-pick. Does everyone in the world and the third day beard? FBI unshaven guys in the office for the day? Ben even has some short-term variable he goes 2-1 with 3 day beards in the same Caper! Hey, what can you do, not a big long shot, but it was too much chaff! |
